Bob Oltmanns has been a public relations/marketing communications a counselor and advisor to major corporations for more than 30 years.
His unique background is a combination of technical training which provides OPR Group clients with an understanding and working knowledge of technology and technical issues.
Prior to founding OPR Group, Mr. Oltmanns was the president of one of Pennsylvania’s leading independent public relations firms.
Throughout his career, Bob has developed and implemented award-winning public relations programs for clients in the fields of technology, manufacturing, energy and environment, healthcare, economic development, and numerous other markets. Additionally, he’s been a counselor on a variety of environmental public relations issues for clients in the chemical, nuclear, forest products, electric power, and transportation industries, to name a few.
He holds degrees from Montclair State University in New Jersey and the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Engineering. Bob is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America, its prestigious College of Fellows and the PRSA Counselor’s Academy. He also served as president of PRSA’s Pittsburgh Chapter in 1996.
From 2001-2003, Bob was president worldwide of IPREX, an international partnership of the world’s leading independent public relations firms.
Bob has also been an adjunct professor of public relations at Carnegie Mellon University and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, and has lectured at several Western Pennsylvania colleges and universities, as well as many national industry conferences. He’s also written numerous articles on environmental public relations for various industry publications.
